Interventional Pain Management

Interventional procedures deliver medication directly to the structure generating your pain, using fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance for accuracy. Most are performed in-office in minutes, with no general anesthesia and no hospital stay.

How it works

After a focused exam and a review of your imaging, Dr. Soyoye identifies the most likely pain generator — a compressed nerve root, an irritated facet joint, an arthritic joint or a trigger point. A diagnostic block confirms the source, and a longer-acting treatment follows if the block relieves your pain.

What to expect

You remain awake and comfortable throughout. Skin is numbed, the needle is guided to the target under imaging, and medication is placed precisely. Most patients drive themselves home and return to light activity the same day.

Results

Relief may begin within days and often lasts weeks to months. Radiofrequency ablation can quiet a painful nerve for six to twelve months or longer. Procedures are paired with therapy so gains in comfort translate into lasting function.

What this may include

  • Epidural steroid injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, caudal)
  • Facet joint injections and medial branch blocks
  • Radiofrequency ablation
  • Sacroiliac joint injections
  • Large and small joint injections (knee, hip, shoulder)
  • Trigger point and soft tissue injections
  • Occipital and peripheral nerve blocks
